General Info

[WWW]Warner Springs Ranch
If you're staying in Warner Springs, you're staying at the resort. It is a timeshare resort that allows hikers in. There is nowhere else to stay in "town". Really, the resort is the town. So be prepared to kick back and relax! Rooms are very nice and relatively cheap but lack T.V. or kitchens. The resort has laundry facilities, but they're small so if you're in the pack, you'll likely have to wait to do your laundry. No problemo there! Head down to the resort's famed hot spring. It's a full size pool, with another, regular pool right next to it. Relax in the pool chairs, eat some grub, spend a day, or two, or three. The resort also has a very nice golf course, but hiker's with tender feet are more likely going to be seen sitting at the pools.

Transportation

[WWW]http://www.sdcommute.com/ (This is the site for the local transit but someone needs to figure out how to find the local bus route information)

Restaurants

There's three [WWW]places to eat. The golf course, the bar and the dinning room. Food ain't cheap, especially at the dinning room. And the golf course restaurant is usually only open for lunch. The bar serves bar food. Burgers, Veggie Burgers, tiny pizzas, etc. Great place to hang out. The dinning room serves "upscale" dishes like meatloaf and mushroom risotto. It also has an all you can eat salad bar. The golf course has sandwiches and the like.

Food Stores

The Ranch Gas Station and Market, officially "the center of Warner Springs’ social scene1", is really quite small. But during thru-hiking season, it's exceptionally well stoked with trail food. Due to its small size however, you might find it picked through with empty shelves.

Medical Services

Best advice would be to ask for help at the resort desk or from Warner Springs Monty.
