Threats to the PCT

Sadly, the PCT is constantly under threat by various agencies. Below is a list of some of the current issues facing the trail.

An electric utility, San Diego Gas and Electric, has a proposal to build a large new powerline for 8-10 miles along the PCT in the San Felipe Hills. Ken Roberts made a map of the proposed location with the pct marked, it can be viewed here.

"Recently Longview Fibre clearcut a parcel of land directly on the PCT in southern Washington (north of Gillette Lake and south of Greenleaf Creek). It appears that no attempt was made to restore the trail to usable condition."
