Julian is a small town early in the PCT. It's a cute tourist town with an old main street. It draws San Diego tourists with it's small town, old west feel and "famous" pies. Hikers will be interested in the food resupply at the pretty decent store, the nice library, the restaurant food and possibly the accomodations.

Hitchhike!

Generally expensive, but at least they're nice bed and breakfasts.

There are two stores. One sucks. The better one is located on a corner on the short main drag. It's got a good selection of hiker food and sells good sandwiches at the deli counter.


Restaurants

Subway Sandwiches is probably the cheapest. But it's really expensive for a Subway!
